ACCOMMODATION: Nature and hospitality at its best, Shangrila offers 70 comfortable guest rooms comprising of suites and cottages located on the bank of the beautiful heart shaped lake called the "Honeymoon Lake". All rooms are equipped with direct dialing phones, marbled bathrooms, hot and cold running water, and efficient room service. Mini Bar is also available.
RESTURANT:Shangrila's restaurants have acquired a standard reputation for the service, quality and variety of their foods.
On "China Night" the Pagoda Restaurant (right) offers you a sumptuous Chinese cuisine which traveled this way on the famous Silk Route from China. Other cuisines are also available. The Pagoda is on an island amidst the Honeymoon Lake linked to the Resort by a short bridge.
Lake View Restaurant (left) gives a panoramic view of the Resort. In an elegant setting we serve our customers Pakistani and Continental cuisines. "Tandoori Village" offers you a taste of ancient old recipes, Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kababs, Mutton Tikkas, Grilled Fish with home made tandoori rooti. Enjoy the out door feast under the stars in a traditional atmosphere.

Shigar: 32 Kms from Skardu (2 hours by Jeep) is the gateway to the great mountain peaks of the Karakuram, including the world's second tallest peak K-2 (left). The entire valley is rich in Walnuts, Grapes, Peaches, Pears and Apricots.
Khaplu: is a beautiful valley from where the river shyok descents into Skardu. Six hours drive by Jeep, This place is an attraction for the trekkers surrounded by several famous peaks.
Basho Valley (right) is located 40 Kms (2 hours drive) from the Resort. This magnificent valley is situated among the lush green forests of the region and is one of the most popular tourist attractions.
Sokh Valley 15 minutes drive away from the Resort. Lush green Sokh also has a stream which is ideal for fishing trout. It is a trekkers paradise as you can walk for miles along the stream.
Rondu and Astak Valley is two and half hours drive from the resort and has many attractions like lush green villages. People riding yaks. Gem stone hunters could find an attraction here looking for gold, aquamarine and topaz.
About 6 KMs or 20 minutes away lies a favorite tourist spot called Upper Kachura Lake. A 45 minute walk from Shangrila, takes you to through ancient villages where you can witness the actual way of life which has been preserved to this day. The natural beauty of this area is very inspiring as one can see the rocky mountains from which flows a rapid into the mighty Indus River, also enjoy a picnic or a day of fishing at this lake.

Approach by Air
Pakistan International Airline operates a daily Boeing-737 flight from Pakistan's capital, Islamabad to Skardu. Flying time is 45 minutes. Please click here to visit Pakistan International's website for details of the flight.
This flight in itself is a beautiful air safari over the world's highest and mightiest mountains. Witness the sensational views of K-2 (8611 m), Nanga Parbat (8126 m) and the panoramic view of "Heaven on Earth".
Approach by Road
The Karakoram Highway has been cut through the highest and mightiest mountains of the world to the unspoiled natural beauty. This highway is referred to as the eighth wonder of the world and beyond any doubt is a true marvel of engineering. This highway connects Pakistan with silk route and to other parts of the northern areas including Skardu. Apart from natural beauty, the whole route is rich with history. Buddhist rock carvings are scattered all along the road.
